Samsung’s next-generation Note phablet – ideally the Note 6 – may launch as early as July this year, suggests a new report . Moreover, the same report also tips that the purported Note 6 will come with Android N (based TouchWiz UI) out-of-the-box.
Normally, Samsung announces its Galaxy Note phones in August. And normally Google announces its next Android iteration a few months post its I/O Developer conference. But, things are different this time round, in that Google has pushed out the Android N Developer Preview Build early. This raises the possibility that Google may launch Android N officially earlier than its usual scheme of things. Should Google do that, there’s a slight possibility that Samsung’s next Note phablet could launch with Android N.
Whatever be the case, there’s still some time for that. That being said, this marks the first batch of rumours regarding the Note 6. For now, further details about the said device are all but none. But, the fact that the Note 5 was such a fabulous phone, the Galaxy Note 6 is expected to be close, if not downright better.
The Note 5 features an all metal and glass design and the trademark S Pen stylus. The phone comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display and is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor clubbed with 4GB RAM.
It sports a 16-megapixel camera on the rear with f/1.9 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation, autofocus and LED flash. There’s also a front-facing 5-megapxiel camera.
The Note 5 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and will be upgradable to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and supports fast and wireless charging.
